Psychopharmacology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Psychopharmacology is the study of the effects of any psychoactive drug that acts upon the mind by affecting brain chemistry.
Amanita muscaria (the common Fly Agaric) is often regarded as the first such drug, with modern theories positing the discovery of its psychoactive properties circa 10,000 BCE.
Hunter-gatherer societies tend to favor hallucinogenic drugs, and today their use can still be observed in many surviving tribal cultures.

 Introduction to Psychopharmacology
This is necessary for psychopharmacology, the study of substances which affect the mind, as is understanding of the structure and working of the nervous system and the processes that play a role at that level.
That framework formed the context of 'everyday' psychopharmacology because the use of substances which influence the mind has become rooted in the daily life of human existence.
Psychopharmacology then, concerns our minds, a 'fullbodied' science.
