 Exercise Physiologist
Physiologists with a specific interest in the physiology of exercise are called exercise physiologists.
Exercise physiologists may also work in clinical settings prescribing exercise for cardiac and pulmonary patients referred by a physician.
Their duties include monitoring and assessing cardiovascular and metabolic effects and mechanisms of exercise, replenishment of fluids during exercise, and exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

 Living Science web
Because plant physiologists support scientists in other disciplines, they need to know about enzymology, meteorology, horticulture, economics, philosophy and the human condition, politics, history, and how to teach.
Plant physiologists study the physical, chemical, and biological functions of living plants.
Probably because plant physiology is a basic science, most plant physiologists work in academic institutions where they both teach and conduct research.

 Willem Einthoven (www.whonamedit.com)
Einthoven repeated this experiment and, in 1895, while working on the construction of this instrument and developing the necessary photographic equipment, with the capillary electrometer he registered graphic reproductions of the variations of the electric charges induced by the contractions of the heart’s musculature, as well as heart sounds of humans and animals.
In 1887, the London physiologist Augustus Desiré Waller (1856-1922) at St. Mary's Medical School, using a capillary electrometer, first succeeded in registering the current of the heart as deduced from the body surface.
In 1889 Einthoven saw Waller demonstrate his technique at the First International Congress of Physiologists.

They wanted better answers to questions they've been asking for more than a decade: How does blood flow through our lungs, and why does it flow that way?
The story begins more than forty years ago in London, where researcher John B. West, PhD, MD, was trying to answer the same questions.
Why did that question bring a group of pulmonary physiologists and their pigs to NASA's Johnson Space Center?

Imagine a physiologist who causes me to have certain desires (and other internal psychological states).
A person who acts from desires which have been induced in them (by an ingenious physiologist) is not acting freely.

 Walter Bradford Cannon: Experimental Physiologist
My father's career as an experimental physiologist was extremely fruitful throughout the thirty-six years of his professorship at the Harvard Medical School, with over four hundred graduate students and colleagues working and collaborating in the physiological laboratory during that span.
Cannon in Franklin, NH As a medical student my father had found medical textbooks hard going and sleep inducing and had observed with some envy the enthusiasm of his roommate, a student at the Harvard Law School, where the case system of study was being used.
