Method of manufacturing a pellicle - US Patent 6335126
The pellicle manufacturing jig 7A is different from the pellicle manufacturing jig 7 in that the jig 7A uses a needle, instead of a blade, as the physical trimming means, the coating material is discharged from the root of the needle, and other matters relating thereto.
The method of manufacturing a pellicle as claimed in claim 13, wherein said needle is a needle with its head obliquely cut.
The pellicle manufacturing jig 7A comprises a pipe body 20 having a large diameter which is a main portion, and a needle 22 which is the physical trimming means disposed at a forward end of the pipe body.

For example, when aluminum material is used, there is known a method of roughening a surface by performing a blast treatment of the surface with stainless steel, carborundum, glass beads, or the like, and then further performing a chemical polishing with NaOH or the like, which can be used for the present invention.
Accordingly, if the focus is on the pattern of the exposure original plate at the time of lithography, the dust on the pellicle film does not affect the transfer.
The above-described embodiment is a mere example, and those having the substantially same structure as that described in the appended claims and providing the similar action and effects are included in the scope of the present invention.

Arguing about this distinction may sound pedantic to some, but I'm mainly a technical photographer and reflex cameras are frequently not acceptable for the specifications of a shoot, whereas a single-lens pellicle camera is. The difference is meaningful and important to some who don't worship at the foot of Canon's marketing materials.
"The pellicle mirror in that camera does not undergo the motion described by the term "reflex." "
Recent experiences with technical support on these cameras hasn't helped my mood, so I'm probably grumpy as well as pedantic.

I thought the concept was wonderful, the camera is very quiet, no vibrations, you can see a flash fire and a persons' expression at the moment of exposure.
