Obesity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Obesity is a condition where the natural energy reserve, stored in the fatty tissue of humans and mammals is increased to a point where it is thought to be a significant risk factor for certain health conditions as well as increased mortality.
Much research focuses on new drugs to combat obesity, which is seen as the biggest health problem facing developed countries.
The focus on weight and body mass is fed, in their view, by a diet promotion industry, drug companies, and segments of the medical profession for profit purposes, by promoting a vision that equates health with slenderness, and makes extreme slenderness of a sort that is quite difficult for most people to achieve an ideal.

The history of obesity medications is replete with numerous disasters that have taught caution in the use of this group of medicines.
However, the notion that the observed increase in mortality and morbidity in patients who are obese is not entirely due to comorbidities previously was controversial.
When asking patients about their history, investigate whether the rest of the patient's family also has weight problems, inquire about the expectations of the subject, and estimate the level of motivation of the subject.
