In addition, CLMRG remains involved in such community education activities as the "Hug-a-Tree" Program, presented regularly to local elementary students, and our annual Basic Mountaineering Course, a six-week introductory class in all aspects of mountaineering with an emphasis on safety.
Most of our experience is in the Sierra Nevada, but many members have experience in other mountain ranges as well, such as the Cascades and Rockies.

 Mountain Rescue Packs - Home
Today, emergency response has evolved from speeding gut buggies to a recognized profession.
Take our word for it; this pack will set the trend in emergency medical response.
Finding a response pack to fit my needs was very difficult because the same response packs used 15 years ago are still on the market today.

There is also a very thorough parent's guide, which is helpful for parents who have, er, forgotten about binary numbers.
One of the things I didn't really like was how long it is. I mean, come on!
Zoombinis Mountain Rescue is a gentle, yet challenging, program that will probably even work its subtle magic on math-phobes.

Portland Mountain Rescue About PMR What Is PMR?
Our existence is a direct response to a way of life for untold thousands of people living in the Pacific Northwest who cherish their right to actively experience the freedom of the hills.
Team members do not receive compensation for their work and are not reimbursed for their expenses whatsoever.
Mount Hood, for instance, is one of the most climbed mountains in the world, but its many glaciers, steep terrain and unpredictable conditions can quickly overwhelm an inexperienced hiker or even an experienced climber who is unfamiliar with the mountain.

 MOUNTAIN RESCUE ASSOCIATION FAQ
We believe that the individual must accept responsibility for his or her actions and that training in proper outdoors skills and for self-rescue might be the quickest and most effective method of resolving most rescue situations.
We recognize that the National Park Service and other governmental agencies have a need to address defraying their costs and we would welcome any opportunity to be involved in discussion of solutions or alternatives to the charge for rescue issue.
Provide search and rescue at NO cost and have NO plans to charge in the future.

 Bluedome
From my own experience the level of dedication and professionalism shown by the unpaid volunteers is outstanding.
Mountains by their very nature involve some element of risk and there will always be those who are caught unawares.
I've climbed the world over and seen rescue services swing into action, in such cases some of those rescuers have been paid professionals, others as is the case with our own Mountain Rescue Service, are unpaid volunteers.

The Group has a long history of developing and evaluating new and safer mountain rescue techniques and equipment.
The Group does not assess any charges to those being assisted.

Since we are still under construction, we're also just beginning to get our links set up.

I think one of the secrets of the success of the camaraderie, dedication and professionalism of the CMRT is that as we volunteer our services - we can always say NO - Hence we always say YES.
These team members are unpaid volunteers who give up their time and skills going to the aid of any one in trouble on the hills.
Arguments for a paid service are discounted by the CMRTas they firmly believe that a paid service would not provide any better service and would be less cost effective than the current arrangements.
