HIV Testing- Health Encyclopedia and Reference
This is done by specially trained clinicians or counselors to ensure accurate information regarding HIV testing is given to the patient in a clear, and understandable form at both sessions.
People with a positive result should assume that they have the virus and could therefore transmit it by having their body fluids come in contact with an uninfected person as by having unprotected sex, sharing needles during drug use, donating blood, sperm, or body organs, during the birth of a newborn or by breastfeeding.
HIV testing must always be preceded by pre-test and followed by post-test counseling sessions.

 HIV and AIDS
One of the most important home treatment messages for any parent or caregiver of a child with HIV is that the child should take all of his or her medications consistently, at the time the prescription indicates.
If these babies do get the HIV virus, they tend to be born with a lower viral load (less HIV virus is present in their bodies) and have a better chance of long-term, disease-free survival.
Talking about HIV and AIDS means talking about sexual behaviors - and it's not always easy for parents to talk about sexual feelings and behavior to their teens.

HIV Infection in Women, NIAID Fact Sheet
HIV may also be transmitted from a nursing mother to her child.
In another NIAID-sponsored study (HIVNET 012) in Uganda, researchers identified a highly effective and safe drug regimen for preventing transmission of HIV from an infected mother to her newborn that is more affordable and practical than any other course of therapy examined to date.
In the same study, HIV-infected women who used heroin or crack/cocaine during pregnancy were also twice as likely to transmit HIV to their babies as compared to HIV-infected women who did not use drugs.

 HIV and AIDS
HIV is passed only through direct contact with another person's body fluids, such as blood.
People can help stop the spread of HIV by avoiding sexual contact with infected people and by not sharing needles or syringes.
Right now there is no cure for HIV or AIDS, but new medicines can help people live longer lives.

Circumcision Status, HIV Infection and AIDS
Pépin reported that HIV positive males often have pre-existing genital ulcers of an untreated STD other than HIV.
Rather than advocating circumcision, given the existing evidence, it would be appropriate to advocate better public health education, so that individuals can make appropriate decisions regarding their own sexual behavior.
Studies claiming a positive link between circumcision and reduced HIV incidence are more likely to be published than studies that found no correlation.

How HIV Causes AIDS, NIAID Fact Sheet
One reason that HIV is unique is the fact that despite the body’s aggressive immune responses, which are sufficient to clear most viral infections, some HIV invariably escapes.
Paradoxically, although it ultimately causes immune deficiency, HIV disease for most of its course is characterized by immune system hyperactivation, which has negative consequences.
A significant component of the research effort of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) is devoted to the pathogenesis of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) disease.

 HIV Tutorial
Thus, the biologic properties of HIV can vary, even within an individual HIV infected person, where variants of HIV may arise that are "neurotropic" or "lymphocytotropic" for example.
HIV can then be carried elsewhere in the body.
The primary risk group for HIV transmission via blood is intravenous drug users sharing infected needles.

This does not, of course, mean that HIV banding at 1.16 g/ml is non- existent, nor does it mean that the virions cannot be separated from the microvesicles, see; Ott DE, et al.
To insist upon their method to establish the reality of HIV is to unequivocally demonstrate one's credulity before charlatans.
This ensures that they can continue to claim that as the challenge has not been satisfied, their arguments must be devastating to the research and medical establishment.
