H5N1 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Waterfowl were revealed to be directly spreading the highly pathogenic strain of H5N1 to chickens, crows, pigeons, and other birds, and the virus was increasing its ability to infect mammals as well.
There has been a huge impact of H5N1 on human society; especially the financial, political, social and personal responses to both actual and predicted deaths in birds, humans, and other animals.
There is as yet no human form of H5N1, so all humans who have caught it so far have caught avian H5N1.

 Biopeer: Avian Flu (H5N1)
The workshop aimed to increase awareness among journalists on basic bird flu information, the high risks associated with it, the general behavioral pattern of the disease, the most practical prevention measures, and quick recognition and response to bird flu in animals and humans.
While the strain also does the same for cats and ferrets, the pattern was reversed for mice suggesting a need to look for an animal with a system more like humans to conduct further research on this strain.
WHO has urged countries to execute measures ranging from large-scale distribution of anti-viral drugs to closing down schools in order to prevent the spread of the virus and its subsequent consequences.
