 HealthScout-Kid-Implications of Eye Cancer Screening
(Ivanhoe Newswire) -- A new study reveals more effective screening may improve survival in children suffering from cancer of the retina.
While nearly all pediatricians report complying with the recommended screening, as many as 90 percent of patients who present with retinoblastoma have symptoms initially detected by family or friends.
In a new study, researchers from New York looked at three common signs and symptoms of intraocular retinoblastoma, the kind most often seen in children, to determine their correlation with survival of the disease.
