Auckland Allergy Clinic - Food Allergy and Intolerance
Food Aversion: A psychologically based food intolerance, where a conditioned response is elicited by the recognition, appearance, smell or taste of a particular food.
It is speculated that the food hypersensitivity is subthreshold for the mast cells to degranulate and exercise is required as a co-factor to achieve the correct threshold.
Allergic eosinophilic esophagitis, gastritis, or gastroenteritis are characterized by infiltration of the oesophagus, stomach, and/or intestinal wall with eosinophils and increased eosinophils in the blood in 50% of patients.

 Chat - Summer 99
Several of the pathophysiological mechanisms resulting in orthostatic intolerance (i.e., tachycardia) have been recognized individually over the course of the past 100 years or more.
Orthostatic tachycardia in a young person who appears to be healthy might have been considered prima facie evidence of deconditioning or perhaps lack of exercise a decade ago.
Orthostatic Hypotension is a debilitating condition which is often not given adequate medical attention, claims David Streeten, MB, Phil, professor emeritus of medicine at the SUNY Health Science Center in Syracuse, NY.

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, Patient's Report
I myself have never had surgery and do not take any drugs for my chronic orthostatic intolerance, just salt and short walks as exercise.
It was simply assumed, without clinical studies, that elevating the head of the bed would help those with other orthostatic intolerance conditions as well.
Here is a Mind Experiment for Doctors to help them appreciate the severe difficulties patients with chronic orthostatic intolerance syndromes face every day.

The Physician and Sportsmedicine: Exercise in Treating Hypertension
Exercise not only reduces blood pressure, it also lowers levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, reduces insulin resistance and glucose intolerance, and often is associated with reduced body weight.
Aerobic exercise or endurance training at low-to-moderate intensity is the exercise of choice, and emerging modes, such as circuit weight training and tai chi, are promising but require further study.
Exercise must produce a conditioning effect, usually three or four exercise sessions of 30 to 45 minutes each week at 60% to 70% of maximal heart rate.

'Lighter Than Air' Breathing More Than Doubles COPD Patients' Exercise Endurance
COPD is characterized by shortness of breath (dyspnea) and exercise intolerance.
Among severely affected patients, especially those with emphysema, the inability to exercise or even to move small distances is mostly due to limits on "breathing out" because of limited expiratory flow, and early onset of dyspnea.
So maybe "lighter than air" air would be easier to breath, reduce shortness of breath and perhaps even allow them to do some exercise with all of its physical and mental benefits.

Welcome to Working Retriever Central! The World Wide Website for Working Retrievers!
The syndrome of exercise intolerance and collapse (EIC) is being observed with increasing frequency in young adult Labrador Retrievers.
The time it takes for dogs with EIC to return to their resting temperature after exercise is not different from normal dogs.
There are some severely affected dogs who, if they are very excited, do not require much exercise to induce the collapse.

Exercise Intolerance is a medical term used to describe a condition where the patient who is unable to do physical exercise at the level that would be expected of someone in his or her general physical condition, or who experiences unusually severe post-exercise pain, fatigue, or other negative effects.
Mitochondrial diseases are a group of disorders relating to the mitochondria, the organelles that are the powerhouses of the eukaryotic cells that comprise higher-order lifeforms (including humans).

To encourage tolerance, parties to a conflict and third parties must remind themselves and others that tolerating tolerance is preferable to tolerating intolerance.
Though tolerance may seem an impossible exercise in certain situations -- as illustrated by Hobbes in the introductory caption to this essay -- being tolerant nonetheless remains key to easing hostile tensions between groups and to helping communities move past intractable conflict.
Intolerance is the failure to appreciate and respect the practices, opinions and beliefs of another group.
