Basalt - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The shape, structure and texture of a basalt is diagnostic of the way it erupted and where it erupted - whether into the sea, in an explosive cinder eruption or as <<b>bb>>creepingb>bb>> pahoehoe lava flows, the classical image of Hawaiian basalt eruptions.
Maar volcanoes are typical of small basalt tuffs, formed by explosive eruption of basalt through the crust, forming an apron of mixed basalt and wall rock breccia and a fan of basalt tuff further out from the volcano.
The term basalt is at times applied to shallow intrusive rocks with a composition typical of basalt, but rocks of this composition with a phaneritic (coarse) groundmass should generally be referred to as dolerite or gabbro.

 Medmicro Chapter 91
Cutaneous larva migrans (<<b>bb>>creepingb>bb>> eruption) is a dermatitis caused by the larvae of Ancylostoma braziliense, the dog and cat hookworm, which penetrate human skin and migrate in the subepidermal tissue.
A similar cutaneous eruption may occur in patients with intestinal Strongyloides stercoralis when the perianal skin is autoinoculated by infective larvae passed in the stool.
Cutaneous larva migrans is primarily a disease of the subtropics, including the southern United States, and occurs wherever soil is contaminated by the feces of infected animals.

 Cutaneous larva migrans
Cutaneous larvae migrans (also called "<<b>bb>>creepingb>bb>> eruption" or "ground itch") is found in southeastern and Gulf states, and in tropical developing countries.
The larvae are commonly found in shaded, moist, or sandy areas (such as beaches, a child's sandbox, or areas underneath a house), where they are easily picked up by bare feet or buttocks.
Tyically, the larvae travel through the bloodstream, to the lungs, and then migrate into the mouth where they are swallowed and attach to the small intestine lining.
